In the Oil & Gas industry, both on- and offshore, the process of lifting heavy loads is done all the time, this process consists of one person mounting a suspension that consists of different tool parts. Each of these tool parts has some information/tags mounted that needs to be read, decoded, verified, and stored to be approved before it is allowed to be used. The information is handwritten, in all kinds of weather, leading to multiple human mistakes like bad handwriting, misspellings, missing information, ineffective communication, etc. leading to a general ineffective work process routine and to incidents and accidents, downtime and big costs. On top of that each tool that are a part of the suspension must have a certificate that makes the tool “legally, before control inspected, ready and up-to-par, and safe to use”, this maintenance record is done also by hand, making the up-to-par of the equipment messy and hard to keep under control.
